PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Last-mile Breeding service delivery module aims to address the needs of marginalised smallholder farmers who have limited access to breeding services. By leveraging a simple and easy-to-use mobile USSD platform (483588#), this module serves farmers across the country. The Last-mile Breeding module not only focuses on accessibility but also affordability. It offers breeding services at a 40% lower cost compared to traditional methods. This cost reduction is made possible through the utilization of a well-developed cold-chain infrastructure and a network of contracted service providers and aims to provide accessible, affordable, and comprehensive breeding services to marginalized smallholder farmers, who represent a significant portion of the un-adopted market.
